What a great wedding yesterday!

The LaMarque - Storti wedding was beautiful. What great weather too. The day started out a bit gray, but as the day went on the blue began to show. The bride was beautiful, and the groom was handsome. She had her hair done so well, and her make-up. I guess that is what you get for being in the industry. But, what I liked the most about the wedding was that the grooms parents owned the place. It was so nice to see them all working together to put a great day together for him and his new wife, Tara. I never realized before that the Quonsett O Club was family owned. I had always assumed it was government (since the O is for Officers). But boy was I wrong. Nicks mom made the Manocotti for 200 from scratch. That is love for your son. Nicks sister Kirstyn was behind the bar for a little bit helping out with drinks while a bartender had to get more ice. The DJ was making great toasts to Nicks Grandfather who actually rescued the place from being vacant about 40 years ago. His mom couldn't help herself but helping with food all night. At one point I told her to go relax, and she said, "This is where I want to be. This is a special place for Nick, he grew up here." It was just so nice to see how close they all were. It felt like we were at someone's house.

One of the best compliments I have ever received was from Nicks Grandfather. He told me at the end of the night, "In all the years I've worked here. And, I've owned the place for 40 years which mean I've seen about 4000 weddings go through here; you are one of the best wedding photographers I have ever seen. You managed to be there for every shot. Capturing a great image, but never getting in the way." A lot of people have given me this kind of compliment before, but I was honored to hear it from someone with so much experience in the industry.

I'll post some pictures in a week or so when I'm done editing the batch.
